In a peaceful retirement village, four unlikely friends meet weekly in the Jigsaw Room to discuss unsolved crimes; together they call themselves The Thursday Murder Club. Elizabeth, Joyce, Ibrahim and Ron might be pushing eighty but they still have a few tricks up their sleeves.
When a local developer is found dead with a mysterious photograph left next to the body, The Thursday Murder Club find themselves in the middle of their first live case. As the bodies begin to pile up, can our unorthodox but brilliant gang catch the killer, before it’s too late?
I had some high expectations for this book, mostly because I’d seen it everywhere for weeks before reading. Online and on the TV and no one seemed to have a bad word to say about it. I was glad I got this for my first book of the readathon, because it was such a fun book to read. It found it to be such a cosy book to read and it really got me captured. I couldn’t put it down.
Not only was the book incredibly interesting and suspenseful, it was filled with a lot of humour too. It had me giggling all the way through. The Thursday Murder Club characters are incredibly endearing and endlessly entertaining. The format of the book is great too. We get to see events from different view points and even entry pages from Joyces diary. This all works together so well to ensure the book is easy and fun to read.
I cannot wait to read more of this series, I cannot tell you how excited I am upon hearing that Osman and more books in the works! I would recommend this book to most people. There’s definitely something in it for everyone to enjoy, you have suspense, mystery, humour. What more could you want?

I had some high expectations for this book, mostly because I’d seen it everywhere for weeks before reading. Online and on the TV and no one seemed to have a bad word to say about it. I was glad I got this for my first book of the readathon, because it was such a fun book to read. It found it to be such a cosy book to read and it really got me captured. I couldn’t put it down.
